Regency Steel Buildings manufactured and delivered these (6) metal mini storage buildings to a business owner in Rapid City, South Dakota, in July 2022.

The massive, six-building mini storage facility has (156) storage units for rent in a variety of sizes and helps meet a growing need for self-storage space in western South Dakota. The mini storage buildings in the complex are the following sizes and contain the following unit mixes.

Building A is 30’x110’x8.5’ and has a gable roof with a 0.5:12 pitch. Inside, it has:
• (12) 5’x10’ units with 4’x7’ door openings
• (9) 10’x10’ units with 9’x7’ door openings
• (9) 10’x20’ units with 9’x7’ door openings

Building B is 30’x170’x8.5’ and has a gable roof with a 0.5:12 pitch. Inside, it has:
• (12) 5’x10’ units with 4’x7’ door openings
• (15) 10’x10’ units with 9’x7’ door openings
• (15) 10’x20’ units with 9’x7’ door openings

Buildings C & F are each 30’x80’x8.5’ and have single-slope roofs with 0.5:12 pitches. Inside, they each have:
• (16) 10’x30’ units with 9’x7’ door openings

Buildings D & E are each 30’x170’x8.5’ and have gable roofs with 0.5:12 pitches. Inside, they each have:
• (34) 10’x10’ units with 9’x7’ door openings
• (34) 10’x20’ units with 9’x7’ door openings

Inside each self-storage building are 29-gauge dividers that create separate storage units. Each building’s roof also features gutters and downspouts with kickouts, which help prevent rain and snow from collecting on top of the roofs or making their way inside the buildings.

All (6) mini storage buildings also have 112-mph wind loads and 14-psf roof snow loads in line with local building codes. South Dakota’s second-most-populated city, Rapid City sits about a 40-mile drive from Custer and roughly 18 miles north of Hermosa.
