Supplied by Regency Steel Buildings for a repeat customer in Le Mars, Iowa, this metal building is now part of the infrastructure of a self-storage business.
The new mini storage building adds another (45) storage units to the existing self-storage facility and is 50’x170’x9.1’/9.5’ in size. Overhead, a painted single-slope Galvalume roof with a modest 0.5:12 pitch provides protection from above, and gutters, downspouts and DripX condensation control pre-applied to the roof help keep the mini storage building watertight.
Inside, the building houses the following mix of storage units:
• (30) 10’x25’ units with 9’x8’ door openings
• (5) 10’x10’ units with 9’x8’ door openings
• (10) 5’x10’ units with 4’x8’ door openings
Offering entry into each unit is one of either (35) 9’x8’ or (10) 4’x8’ TracRite Model 944 mini storage doors, and each door has a side brush, a SpaceGuard latch and a top draft stop. The self-storage facility also has 29-gauge partitions with Galvalume finishes creating separate storage units inside.
Engineered for the precise climate conditions and building codes in place in Le Mars, the mini storage building also has a 112-mph wind load and a 25.2-psf roof snow load. Located along the Floyd River, Le Mars is part of Plymouth County and the Sioux City, Iowa metro area. It sits roughly 27 miles northeast of Sioux City and about 34 miles west of Cherokee.
