Regency Steel Buildings manufactured and delivered this prefabricated metal self-storage building in Ashland, Maine, in July 2022.

Highly customized and ultra-durable, the self-storage building is comprised of rugged, sustainable steel parts and contains (30) storage units the business owner rents out in exchange for a fee. When raised, the mini storage building is 30’x150’x8.5’, and its roof is comprised of heavy-duty Galvalume steel panels and has a slight 0.5:12 pitch. The roof also has gutters, downspouts and DripX condensation control pre-applied to it, all of which help control condensation and prevent damage.

Inside, the self-storage building contains (8) 10’x20’ storage units, (14) 10’x15’ storage units and (8) 10’x10’ units, all of which have 9’x7’ framed door openings offering access inside. Filling those door openings are (30) 9’x7’ Janus Model 650 mini storage doors with stainless-steel latches.

Separating the interior of the building into separate storage units are robust 29-gauge dividers with Galvalume finishes. The Regency Storage Systems mini storage building also has a 115-mph wind load and a high, 90.3-psf roof snow load in consideration of the climate characteristics and heavy seasonal snowfall seen throughout the area.

Located in northern Maine, Ashland is part of Aroostook County. Nearby communities include Masardis, Portage and Oxbow, Nashville and Garfield plantations.
