Regency Steel Buildings supplied this massive metal mini storage building for a business owner in Elkhart, Indiana, in September 2022.
Supplied to help fulfill a growing need for self-storage space in the area, the mini storage building features heavy-duty steel construction and is 35’x340’x8.5’. The mini storage facility has standard-height ceilings, making it well-suited for traditional storage needs, and has a hardy Galvalume gable roof with gutters, downspouts, DripX condensation control and a 0.5:12 pitch sitting overhead.
Inside, the self-storage business has the following mix of storage units:
• (1) 25’x35’ unit
• (4) 20’x35’ units
• (12) 10’x25’ units
• (10) 10’x20’ units
• (10) 10’x15’ units
• (7) 10’x10’ units
• (1) 15’x5’ unit
• (2) 10’x5’ units
• (17) 5’x10’ units
Each storage unit has a 9’x7’ framed door opening with the exception of the (17) 5’x10’ units, which have 4’x7’ door openings. Each opening features one of either (52) 9’x7’ or (17) 4’x7’ Model 650 mini storage doors with stainless-steel latches.
Regency also supplied an engineer-stamped foundation design alongside the building kit for this structure, and the building also has a 25-psf roof snow load and a 115-mph wind rating. Located in north-central Indiana, the city of Elkhart is part of Elkhart County. It sits about 15 miles east of South Bend and about 110 miles east of Chicago.
