Self-Storage Building Kit in Petal, Mississippi

Regency Steel Buildings sent this pre-engineered metal building kit to a client in Petal, Mississippi in September of 2022.

Now a large self-storage facility, the insulated mini storage building has (283) storage units in a variety of sizes and caters to customers with traditional and oversize storage needs. A corrosion resistant Galvalume steel roof with gutters downspouts and a modest .75:12 pitch provides protection from above and 5′ wide painted hallways give renters access to their respective storage units.

Inside, the metal mini storage building contains the following:

(7) 5’x5′ units with 3’x7′ door openings
(22) 10’x5′ units with 6’x7′ door openings
(132) 10’x10′ units with 8’x7′ door openings
(76) 10’15’ units with 8’x7′ door openings
(46) 10’x20′ units with 8’x7′ door openings

Each storage unit has its own Royal Blue Model 650 mini storage door, and there are also (6) 4’x7′ White or Bronze walk doors that provide general access to the self-storage facility. There are also heavy duty 29-gauge partitions with Galvalume finishes that break the interior of the building into separate rentable units.

Inside the roof and walls of the self-storage buildings are 4″ of insulation with WMP-VRR facing, which protects the fiberglass blankets while improving how the business looks on the inside. The building also features a high 130mph wind rating in consideration of strong wind activity and building code requirements in place in the city of Petal.

Located in southern Mississippi, Petal is part of Forrest County. It sits about 3 miles from Hattiesburg and about 85 miles southwest from Meridian.
