Mini Storage Building with Climate-controlled Units Supplied in Silsbee, Texas

Regency Steel Buildings supplied this climate controlled mini storage building for a customer in Silsbee, Texas in 2009.

The climate-controlled storage building and hallway system now serves as a mini storage facility with (59) rentable units, and stands 60’x120’x10’ with a 1:12 roof pitch. Of those (59) units, (45) are 10’x10’ climate-controlled units with 8’x7’ framed openings and accompanying mini storage doors, while (2) other climate-controlled units are sized 5’x10’ with 3’x7’ framed openings and accompanying doors. The remaining (12) units are not climate-controlled, and are 10’x10’ with 8’x8’ framed openings and mini storage doors of the same size. The climate-controlled units have 6” of insulation in the roof and 4” in the walls, while the non-climate controlled units have 6” of insulation in the roof, only. The mini storage building also has (1) 10’x40’ painted hallway and (2) 5’x120’ painted hallways for easy storage unit access.

The mini storage building was customized to include a 6” “bag and sag” insulation system and a one pound collateral load to accommodate the building’s HVAC system. Additional features include a 35’ section of gutter with (2) accompanying downspouts, 29-gauge Panel Loc partition panels with a Galvalume finish, Texas engineer-stamped drawings, wedge anchors and a 6070 framed opening for the storefront door.

To ensure maximum durability regardless of weather conditions, the mini storage building has a wind speed of 90 mph, a ground snow load of 21 lbs. and a roof snow load of 30 lbs.

The City of Silsbee is located within Hardin County in eastern Texas, and sits about 104 miles from Houston and 20.5 miles from Beaumont.
